A meticulously executed 'snapshot' of an unknown corner of Te Urewera. As with all my work, this image is meditative, it is a prayer, it is a cry.
The name means 'weeds, thistles', and is taken from Kenehi (Genesis) 3.18.
Look very carefully and you will see a pīwakawaka amongst the beautiful mess, chattering of hope.
